EDF

GRTgazA major player in energy transition, the EDF group is a integrated energy company, operating across various areas: production, transport, distribution, trade, and the sale of energy and energy services. Normandy produces the second highest amount of electricity in France, with a diverse production mix (nuclear energy, thermal energy and renewable energy).

EDF is a major investor in Normandy, particularly through its nuclear projects (Flamanville EPR, Grand Carénage) and its off-shore wind farms (Fécamp, Courseulles sur Mer). The EDF group employs around 8,000 people in Normandy across all sectors and subsidiaries.

Ergosup

ErgosupHydrogen appears to be the most promising energy source to work towards clean and independent cars. As part of this approach, Ergosup is developing an innovative pressurised hydrogen production process on site to refuel cars with hydrogen. This process involves splitting water with electricity in accordance with the water electrolysis principle. But it differs from existing processes through the use of zinc salt, allowing oxygen and hydrogen production to take place in two successive stages rather than simultaneously.

A winner at the World Innovation Awards, Ergosup is supported by BPI and Investissements d’Avenir.

GRDF

GRDFA key player in the energy world and a gas energy expert, GRDF, an independent subsidiary which is 100% owned by ENGIE, is the leading natural gas distribution network operator in France.
Its mission: to design, construct, maintain and operate 197,928 km of natural gas distribution pipelines, channelling it to 46 suppliers and distributing it safely to 11 million customers, promoting the use of natural gas, sustainable development of the network and gas energy, and supporting and adding biomethane producers to the network.

As part of its 2050 plan, GRDF believes that natural gas and its distribution network is a key response to energy transition. GRDF is preparing the network of tomorrow through the development of Smart Gas Grids: the growing use of green gas and the addition of other collective networks to the local grid for energy synergy. The deployment of the Gazpar smart meter will be the first step in the implementation of these Smart Gas Grids.

GRTgaz

GRTgazGRTgaz builds, maintains and develops 85% of the French gas transport network. With 32,000km of pipelines and 27 compression stations, GRTgaz channels gas to supply nearly 4,500 consumption points (public distribution, industrial clients, electricity production centre, etc.).

Alongside regional bodies and industry, GRTgaz provides a public service to ensure a continuous, safe supply to consumers. In order to be open and encourage dialogue, GRTgaz is using its expertise and facilities to support the construction of a more decentralised and lower carbon energy system, notably through the development of power-to-gas, which transforms surplus product into gas through electrical renewable energies.

SYLFEN

GRDFThe aim of Sylfen, a start-up deriving from CEA-Liten in Grenoble, is to make it possible for the world to easily supply itself with energy from local and renewable sources. Sylfen is developing the "smart energy hub", a solution aiming to store energy as hydrogen for energy-plus buildings and eco-neighbourhoods.
At the heart of the "smart energy hub", there is a reversible energy processor, which involves state-of-the-art technology: it is a high-efficiency and high-temperature reversible system, operating both as an electrolyser and fuel cell. The "smart energy hub" helps control the supply of energy from renewable energies which are produced, stored and consumed locally, with a supplement bought from the network at chosen moments, and shared on the local smart grid, or produced from natural gas or biomethane.
